Name
Addressing Rising Repair Costs
Description

Dealer labor rates have climbed sharply in recent years, increasing the cost of service for customers and putting added pressure on OEM aftersales organizations. As service prices rise overall, more customers may delay maintenance or defect to the aftermarket – creating growing concerns about dealer service retention. Labor pricing is often treated as a dealer-controlled issue with limited OEM influence, but is that really the case? This session will explore how OEMs can play a more active role by equipping dealers with better data, tools, and processes to make labor pricing decisions more strategically and adaptively. Designed as a discussion-heavy session, the conversation will dig into how labor rate information is tracked, shared, and used across dealer networks, and where OEMs may have opportunities to provide greater visibility to dealers without overstepping or setting actual rates. The session will also incorporate Ducker Carlisle research into how the aftermarket is addressing repair costs and attempting to retain customer, all compared to the dealer offering.
